Local author reaches No. 1 on Amazon
Jacqueline Davieau, a Lorain author, has reached the No. 1 Hot New Release spot on Amazon for most of April with her second book that tributes her son and those in search of hope.
“Remembering Heaven” is the sequel to her first book, “Inspiration From Above: My Son Guides Me From the Afterlife.”
“Remembering Heaven” released March 30, hit No. 1 on Amazon’s Supernatural, Grief and Loss and Reincarnation categories in two hours, said Davieau, 40.
“Inspiration From Above,” released Aug. 8, 2016, shares Davieau’s spiritual experiences after the tragic loss of her son Christopher “Mario” Davieau.
Christopher Davieau, who was 22, died from injuries suffered in a car wreck Sept. 30, 2015, in Bowling Green, Ohio.
Her other sons are Austin, 19, and Jilian, 14.
Through her second book, Davieau said she continues share her spiritual experiences with readers in hopes to help those grieving or who have curiosity on the afterlife.
Publisher Annette Munnich of Stellium Books notifies Davieau of her book’s standings.
Davieau said she did not expect to reach a No. 1, but is happy on the response of readers.
“It’s really exciting,” she said. “Never in a million years, would I expect to hit No. 1 in hours. The first (book) has touched so many lives.”
Davieau said what inspired her to write books was when she realized she had a purpose in life.
After her son died, she said she sunk into a deep depression and didn’t think she could come out of it.
Davieau recalled a night when she was home alone for the first time two months after her son had passed.
She said she was crying and feeling at a loss until she was comforted by the words, “I am here for you,” and a hug that felt as if an angel’s wings wrapped around her.
Davieau said that was the first night she had a full-night’s sleep and felt as if she woke up needing to fulfill her purpose.
She said she felt herself coming out of her depression when she attended a yoga and meditation class; leading to her first vision of heaven.
Davieau said she saw the vision of Jesus baptizing her son and welcoming him home to heaven.
Since then, Davieau said she has continued to have these experiences which make her feel like her son is alive more than ever, and that everything is going to be OK.
She said these are not psychic visions, but real feelings received from a meditative and peaceful state.
Davieau said since the family began having these experiences, they see visions or peaceful messages in the sky or by cardinals from the after life.
“Tuning into our loved ones is a birthright we are all given,” she said. “We just have to learn how to still our mind and listen.”
Davieau said she was encouraged by her sister to write her visions down in a journal after several special visions of her son and of heaven.
It was not long until she met Munnich, who loved all the experiences Davieau wrote.
Davieau said she wrote her books to share her visions and express that life after death is a beautiful thing.
“Inspiration From Above” shares the start of her visions of her son and heaven.
“Remembering Heaven” continues to share more visions, but more of other children who may have died and are sending messages to their loved ones.
“I think it’s just what needs to be told,” Davieau said. “It’s what needs to be told to the world now, with so much negativity going on right now. It’s a message that needs to be out.”
Davieau added these spiritual experiences can help uplift people and bring hope and joy.
She expressed that it can open a door to allow people to talk more open about their spiritual experiences.
Since her first book was released, she said she has attracted a local following and from people around the world.
Davieau works full time as a certified medical assistant for the ear, nose and throat department at University Hospitals Sheffield Health Center, but has now made time to reach out to those going through grieving or spiritual experiences.
She said she has made an author page on Facebook, where she reaches out to grieving groups or for people to contact her to share stories.
On her author page, Davieau said she also hosts a live chat called “Spiritual Power Hour,” on Sundays.
She said she also gives her books away to anyone she feels may need them.
“If they want a free PDF (of her book), I’ll give them a free copy of it,” Davieau said. “You know, because I’m not doing this for money. Helping someone’s heart is more important to a royalty check.”
