An Avon law firm has announced a name change and a new logo.

According to a media release, after 17 years of operating under the name Wickens, Herzer, Panza, Cook & Batista Co., the business law firm is now known as Wickens Herzer Panza.

The release said the new name and logo are a reflection of the firm’s updated mission and vision, but does not change the core of their business practices.

“This new look doesn’t change who we are,” firm President and CEO Matt Nakon said in the release. “Rather, it solidifies who we’ve always been: cutting edge, down-to-earth and committed. We are your trusted advisors.”

The thought process behind rebranding the firm comes after continued yearover-year growth and while the legal industry’s own revamping through product offerings and services, the release said.

“It was time to think about what and who we are known as in the community and what we stand for in the minds of our clients,” said Jess Brandenburg, marketing and business development manager for the firm.

“It’s not nearly as much of a mouthful now, and it is much easier for someone to recall or recite,” said Ben Cooke, an attorney with the firm. “I’m proud of who we have always been and I’m proud of the direction we’re heading. It’s a very exciting time for all of us.”

According to the release, the new logo is designed to “convey trust and integrity and a sense of calmness and security.”

The blue triangle contained in the large W is symbolic of William G. Wickens, David Herzer and Richard Panza, as well as symbolizing the strength of everyone at the firm working together.

The release said the firm will update its building signage, website and marketing materials as well as its internal brand and “a more solid promise to clients” over the next few months.
