The men’s and women’s tennis teams participat­ed in the NCAC Tournament last week, with both teams placing third.

On the men’s side, the Yeomen topped DePauw in the first round, 5-1, on April 27 before falling to No. 2 Denison, 5-1, on April 28. Oberlin wrapped up the tournament with a third-place game victory over Ohio Wesleyan, 5-1.

The Yeomen finished the season with a 11-10 overall record.

On the women’s side, the Yeowomen topped Ohio Wesleyan in the first round, 5-0, on April 27 before falling to No. 2 Denison, 5-3, on April 28. Oberlin wrapped up the tournament with a third-place game victory over DePauw, 5-4.

The Yeowomen finished the season with a 16-9 overall record.

Other highlights from Oberlin College for the week of April 23-29:

• Women’s lacrosse ended its regular season with a 17-6 loss to Denison. The loss dropped the Yeowomen’s record to 10-5 overall (6-2 NCAC). Oberlin opens NCAC tournament play on May 2 as the No. 2 seed, behind only No. 1 Denison. The Yeowomen will host No. 3 Wooster with the game slated to start at 6 p.m.

• The softball team’s season came to an end with a doublehead­er sweep of Hiram on April 15 before being swept in a doublehead­er by Capital University on April 26. The Yeowomen end their season with an 8-26 record.

• The baseball team went 1-2 on the week. The Yeomen were swept by Kenyon College on April 28, but picked up a 4-3 win over John Carroll on April 26. Oberlin picked up the win via ninth-inning heroics from freshman Lawrence Hamilton, who tied the game on a groundout before senior Sam Harris drove in the go-ahead run, scoring Parker Goldstein. The Yeomen are now 10-22 on the season with seven games remaining.
