Two men face felony drug charges
Police say two Lorain County men are in trouble following a traffic stop in Elyria that led to illegal drugs being recovered.
Joseph W. Zelenka, 38, of Elyria, was charged with trafficking methamphetamine, a fourth-degree felony; possession of methamphetamine, a fifthdegree felony; and drug paraphernalia, a fourthdegree misdemeanor; according to an Elyria police report.
George J. Rumack, 41, of Lorain, also was charged with possession of methamphetamine as well as conveying illegal drugs, a third-degree felony, according to the report.
Officers stopped a blue Dodge, driven by Zelenka, at 9:24 a.m. May 3, in the 6900 block of Midway Boulevard, just west of Tillotson Street, the report said.
Officers found a black scale with residue, a McDonald’s paper bag with several small bags of methamphetamine, and a white baggie with more methamphetamine on the driver’s side floor of the vehicle, according to the report.
A cleaning scrubber with drug residue was found on Rumack’s person and methamphetamine was later found on his person while he was in Lorain County Jail, the report said.
Zelenka is being held on a $7,750 bond and Rumack on a $12,500 bond at Lorain County Jail.
Both men must appear at 2 p.m. May 10 before Elyria Municipal Court Judge Robert C. White.
