Rosary prayed: All faiths and all nations are invited to pray the Rosary of the unborn with us at St. Anthony of Padua Church, in the Eucharisti­c Chapel at 1305 E. Erie Ave., Lorain on May 5. Rosaries are prayed the first Saturday of every month, every half hour, on the hour, from 10 a.m. until 3:30 p.m.— for an end to abortion within our nation and throughout the world. (The last rosary is said at 3:30 p.m., prayed in St. Anthony Church, not in the Eucharisti­c Chapel, just before 4 p.m. Mass.) Details, contact Dr. Hilaire Tavenner, 440-288-0416. Relationsh­ip training: Faith leaders in Lorain County are eligible for a free relationsh­ip education training, called PREP, on May 17. The program is designed for faith leaders who teach or minister to groups within their faith. PREP, the Prevention and Relationsh­ip Education Program, is a curriculum on healthy relationsh­ips, designed to be offered to groups. With the training, faith leaders can add this valuable option to their religious education courses. Participan­ts in the PREP Workshop Leader Training will be able to teach classes on the role of physical, emotional, and commitment safety in creating a healthy relationsh­ip, as well as the “Three Keys to Success” to making decisions and improving relationsh­ips. Learn more and register:http://bit.ly/preplc. Golden Agers to meet: The Catholic Golden Agers will meet at 11:30 a.m. May 16 in the social hall at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Amherst. The menu is chicken salad on a croissant, chips, pickles, cookies and drinks. The donation is $4. A musical program will be presented by the “Singing Seniors”. Membership fees are $5. Mothers will be honored. Please respond to the callers so we have an accurate head count. Tickets for the July luncheon will be sold in May and June. The cost is $11. The menu will be Swiss steak, ovenbaked chicken, pork chops, mashed potatoes, cheesy au gratin potatoes, candied carrots, broccoli with cheese, garden salad, rolls, drinks and cookies. Chicken dinner: A chicken dinner will be served from 4 to 6 p.m., May 12 at Cornerston­e Church, 2949 W. River Road, North, Elyria. Chicken (fried or naked), mac and cheese or mashed potatoes with gravy, green beans, roll, dessert and beverage. Tickets are $8 adults and $6 for children ages 8 and younger. For informatio­n, call 440-324-1202 Tomato plant giveaway: The Great Tomato Plant Giveaway will be from 9 to 11 a.m., May 19 and 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., May 20 at Cornerston­e Church, 2949 W. River Road, North, Elyria. The Missions Team would like to reach out into the community in ways that will help people on a continuing basis. One of those ways is with a tomato plant giveaway. Tomato plants will be purchased and two per family will be given. The family can then enjoy tomatoes throughout the summer. Limit of two plants per family. For informatio­n, call 440-324-1202. Spring rummage sale: Avon United Methodist, 37711 Detroit Road, Avon, will host the spring rummage sale from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., May 18 and 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., May 19. Early bird hours on Friday will be from 8:30 to 9 a.m. with a $3 admission. The sale will also feature homemade soups and baked goods for sale.
