According to court personnel, the male still is alive and is recovering from the shooting.

During Martinez’s initial arraignment April 2 in Lorain Municipal Court, Lorain Prosecutor Jeffrey Szabo described the crimes the two are accused of as “extremely brutal.”

“A victim was duct taped, brutally stabbed to death,” Szabo said. “Another individual who happened to survive was shot in the back of the head.

“Seemed like he was trying to get rid of any witnesses in this case.”

Both men could face the death penalty if convicted. They are scheduled to be arraigned in May 24 in Lorain County Common Pleas Court.

Each man has a $2 million bond. They are lodged at the Lorain County Jail.
