Campus news Mount Union honors area students
The following students were acknowledged recently at the University of Mount Union’s Senior Recognition and Honors Convocation.
• Taylor McMorrow of Avon, was honored with The Elmer George Prize. This prize is awarded to a junior student majoring in psychology, neuroscience, or human development and family science, with the highest grade point average.
• Sarah Hessel of Avon Lake, was honored with The Wilbur and Burdella Stuckey Carl Mathematics Prize. This prize is awarded to members of the freshman class who are ranked best in mathematics.
• Abigail Ogonek of Westlake, was honored with The Wilbur and Burdella Stuckey Carl Mathematics Prize. This prize is awarded to members of the freshman class who are ranked best in mathematics.
• William Clay of Westlake, was honored with The Alumni Chemistry Award. This prize is awarded to the most outstanding chemistry or biochemistry major.
• Benjamin Lewis of Norwalk, was honored with The American Institute of Chemists Award. This prize is awarded to an outstanding graduating senior who has the best record in chemistry or biochemistry.
• Chris Golian of Valley City, was honored with The Robert I. Brainard, Jr. Communications Award. This prize is awarded to the stu- dent who has made the best contribution in the area of communications as reflected in the college newspaper, radio, or yearbook.
Each year, the convocation honors graduating seniors and underclass students who have excelled academically, displayed excellent leadership skills and shown dedication to the University and community through outstanding community service initiatives.
