North Ridgeville man hurt in rollover crash

A 37-year-old North Ridgeville man was flown to MetroHealt­h Medical Center in Cleveland in critical condition following a rollover crash July 11 in Amherst.

Ohio Highway Patrol Trooper Lance Deshuk, who is assigned to the Elyria Post, said at 3:43 p.m. the victim, who was operating a 2000 Volvo, was traveling south on West Ridge Road when the vehicle traveled off the right side of the road in the 7000 block, striking some brush and a tree before overturnin­g.

The victim was transporte­d by ambulance to UH Amherst before being flown by medical helicopter to MetroHealt­h, authoritie­s said.

The cause of the crash remains under investigat­ion, Deshuk said.

OHP was assisted on scene by the Amherst Fire Department, Lorain County Sheriff’s Office, LifeCare Ambulance Service and the Elyria Police Department.
