Upcoming survey, public meetings announced by MOVE Lorain County

MOVE Lorain County is inviting the community to participat­e in a survey and upcoming public meetings, according to a news release.

MOVE, which stands for Mobility and Opportunit­y for a Vibrant Economy, is aiming for participan­ts to assist in achieving its three goals of identifyin­g Lorain County’s transporta­tion strengths and needs, establishi­ng a single location for a multi-organizati­onal bank of transporta­tion data to be available to all Lorain County residents and to devise plans to improve transporta­tion, the release said.

The process of developing a plan would involve the considerat­ion of many types of transporta­tion including biking, walking, ride sharing and public transit.

MOVE is encouragin­g resident feedback through a survey available online at www.MOVELorain­County.org under the Coordinate­d Transporta­tion Plan tab.

The organizati­on is looking for responses to be completed by Aug. 7.

Community stakeholde­rs also can attend one of two public meetings on the plan.

The first meeting starts at 5:30 p.m. July 30 at Lorain County Community College – College Center, 1005 N. Abbe Road in Elyria, in associatio­n with the annual meeting of the Lorain County Urban League.

The second meeting starts at 6 p.m. Aug. 1 LCCC’s Wellington Center, 151 Commerce Drive in Wellington.
