The two adult suspects in the Silverado Arms breakin have waived their preliminary hearings and their cases have been bound over to the Lake County Common Pleas Court.

Keith Ford and James Ogletree, both of Cleveland, appeared July 23 before Mentor Municipal Court Judge John Trebets.

The pair are two of four people allegedly involved in the July 16 break-in at the 7255 Center St. gun store.

Ford, 21, faces a first-degree felony felonious assault charge, third-degree felony failure to comply with a police order and fifth-degree felony breaking and entering.

According to Mentor police, Ford was the getaway driver. When police arrived to the scene shortly after 5 a.m., they saw a vehicle come from the back of the building. Ford refused to stop for officers, allegedly driving directly at them. Two of the officers on scene fired a total of four rounds at the vehicle.

Ogletree, 22, is facing second-degree felony robbery, third-degree felony failure to comply with a police order, grand theft and fifth-degree felony breaking and entering.

Police allege that after Ogletree fled from the getaway car, he stole a vehicle from a disabled woman and led police on a threecounty pursuit that ended when Ogletree was involved in a head-on collision with a civilian driver in Columbia Station.

Both Ford and Ogletree remain in the Lake County Jail. Ford, who still has a bandage on the side of his head, has an $850,000 bond. Ogletree, whose arm was in a sling during the July 23 hearing, has a $1.1 million bond.

Ogletree also had several warrants out for his arrest in other jurisdiction including for aggravated murder stemming from an April 8 armed robbery in Cleveland’s Bellaire-Puritas neighborhood that ended in the fatal shooting of 25-year-old O’Shay Miller.

The other two suspects — a 14-year-old and a 15-yearold — were arraigned on fifth-degree felony complicity to breaking and entering and misdemeanor obstructing official business charges in the Lake County Juvenile Court last week.
