• Clippers: Triple-A Columbus had four hits and lost to Louisville, 2-1. The Clippers (56-53) got great starting pitching from Shao-Ching Chiang, who went seven innings, giving up one run, no walks, seven hits and two strikeouts. Louisville starter Cody Reed struck out 10 Clippers in 8 2⁄3 innings. • RubberDuck­s: Double-A Akron lost a 4-3 decision to Bowie. The RubberDuck­s (65-45) generated six hits with Sam Haggerty driving in a pair of runs. Starter Aaron Civale tossed seven innings, giving up four hits, four earned runs, two walks and struck out three. • Hillcats: Advances Single-A Lynchburg’s game against Salem was postponed. It will be made up in Salem during the final series of the regular season on Aug. 31 to Sept. 3. • Captains: Single-A Lake County scuffled in a 8-1 loss to visiting Bowling Green. The Captains (4663) gave up 14 hits. Starter Gregori Vasquez tossed six innings, giving up seven earned runs, one walk and struck out two. Jose Vicente went 3-for-4 with a double. Bowling Green’s Ronaldo Hernandez hit two home runs and went 3-for5 with 3RBI. • Scrappers: Shortseaso­n Single-A Mahoning Valley lost a 8-7 decision to Batavia. Each team had 10 hits. The Scrappers (28-16) scored five runs in the top of the first, but pitching did them in, with starter Cameron Mingo giving up four runs in five innings and walked three. Henry Pujols went 3-for-3 with two RBI and Mitch Reeves drove in three RBI.
