• Mike Papi hit an RBI double to score the game-winning run and Triple-A Columbus beat Rochester, 2-1. Joe Sever and Eric Stamets each added doubles and the Clippers had six hits on the day. Shao-Ching Chiang (43) earned the win in relief. He threw four innings and allowed one hit and struck out three. Josh Tomlin got the start, pitching four innings and allowing one run off four hits and no walks. Tomlin had four strikeouts. Evan Marshall earned a save.

• South Bend broke a 1-1 tie in the eighth inning off Jimmy Herron III’s sacrifice bunt to beat Single-A Lake County, 2-1. The Captains took the lead in the opening half-inning but did not score the rest of the game. Gabriel Mejia led the offense, going 2-for-4 with a double and a run scored, but the Captains were outhit, 8-5. DSL Indians shut out the DSL Red Sox, 1-0. Planez had the only multi-hit game for the DSL Indians, going 2-for-4. Yulis Hernandez led the DSL Red Sox with three hits. Darlin Noboa earned the win in relief, throwing four innings and allowing three hits, two walks and had three strikeouts. Luis Peguero was credited with the save.

• The Rookie AZL Indians 1 beat the AZL Indians 2, 3-1, behind a two-run sixth inning. The AZL Indians 1 had 10 hits including a double from Cristopher Cespedes and a triple from Johnathan Rodriguez, who went 2-for-4 and added two runs and an RBI. Hector Figueroa earned the win in relief, pitching 2 1⁄3 innings and allowing four hits while striking out four. Eli Lingos was credited with a save. Sergio Morillo took the loss for the AZL Indians 2 in 5 1⁄3 innings of work. He allowed two runs off three hits and two walks and struck out three.
