AMHERST, SENIOR » CROSS COUNTRY On the course: At the OHSAA Preseason Invitational in Hebron, home of the state meet, Baumgartner placed 63rd out of 208 runners with a time of 17:49. He is a varsity letter winner in both cross country and track since his freshman year.

AVON LAKE, SENIOR » GOLF On the course: The Shoregals senior leader claimed the medalist honors at the Magnificat and Edison tournaments. She also shot a 32 at Springvale, one off of the Avon Lake record.

NORTH RIDGEVILLE, SENIOR » GOLF On the course: The Rangers senior shot a 79 during the Comet Invitational and a 72 at the SWC preview, placing second overall. In North Ridgeville’s opening SWC match with Midview, Matej shot a 34.

KEYSTONE, SENIOR » GOLF On the course: The Keystone senior opened the season with an 84 at the LEGGA Preview. In a match with Elyria Catholic she shot a 47 and then followed it with a 44 in a tri-match against Bay and Rocky River.

ROCKY RIVER, SENIOR » GOLF On the course: Rocky River won the LEGGA Preview at Grey Hawk, with Shin leading the way with an 88. She followed that with a 41 in a tri-match with Bay at Keystone.
