Easterdays wed 50 years
Tom and Linda Easterday of Sarasota, Fla.,celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary Aug. 24, 2018.
They were married Aug. 24, 1968, at Freeport United Methodist Church in Freeport, Pa.
Mr. Easterday started his career as a teacher in the Sheffield-Sheffield Lake City Schools from 1969-1980. He was a middle school principal for Avon Local Schools from 1980-1987 and athletic director for Fremont City Schools from 1987-1990. He was a high school principal at Bellevue City Schools from 1990-1997 and high school principal and assistant superintendent with Vermilion Local Schools from 1997-2004. He retired from Vermilion Local Schools on Aug. 1, 2004
His wife began her career as a teacher in Sheffield-Sheffield Lake City Schools from 1969-1976. She was a teacher in Avon Local Schools from 19781987 and in Benton-Carroll-Salem Schools from 1987-1990. She was curriculum coordinator with Erie-Ottawa-Huron ESC from 1990-1993 and director of educational outcomes with Vermilion Local Schools from 19932007. She retired from Vermilion Local Schools on Feb. 1, 2007.
Their family includes children and spouses: Jason of Dallas and Valorie (Ryan) Frye of Hilliard; and grandchildren Alivia Frye and Avary Frye of Hilliard.
Tom and Linda met and married while students at Indiana University of Pennsylvania. The Easterdays lived in Lorain County for 48 years before moving to Hilliard. 2015. They became “snowbirds” in 2008, spending winters in Sarasota.
