2 indicted on drug trafficking charges
Two Lorain County men were indicted Aug. 30 in federal court on charges of selling fentanyl and other drugs, according to a news release from the U.S. Attorney’s Office of the Northern District of Ohio.
Dwayne R. Taylor, 32, of Elyria, was charged in the nine-count indictment with distribution of fentanyl, heroin and crack cocaine and firearm charges.
Todd E. Coleman Jr., 37, of Lorain, was charged in a three-count indictment with distribution of fentanyl analogues and cocaine.
Taylor sold crack cocaine, a mixture of fentanyl and heroin numerous times between May and July, according to the release.
Authorities said Taylor possessed 6.53 grams of a mixture of heroin and fentanyl July 19.
Taylor also possessed a Glock 9 mm and Smith & Wesson .40-caliber handgun, according to the release.
He was prohibited from having a firearm because of a prior conviction for drug trafficking, the release said.
Coleman sold nearly 30 grams of fentanyl analogues and an unidentified amount cocaine, according to the release.
Assistant U.S. attorneys Robert F. Corts and Vasile Katsaros are prosecuting the case.
The Elyria Police Department, FBI, Lorain Police Department, DEA and Lorain County High Intensity Drug Trafficking Area investigated the case.
