Goldberg’s take on Trump not surprising

-

Self-interest vs public interest? I’m a self appointed BS yeller regarding Jonah Goldberg. I have met him and do follow him closely. He is a card carrying member of the establishment and shares their visceral hate for one Donald Trump.

So whenever he writes, it will probably be about Trump, and definitely not flattering. The Aug. 26 Opinion column was no different. Although, this one was a bit more subtle.

After agreeing that Trump should not testify before Mueller for legal reasons (fodder for impeachment and/or prosecution after he leaves office), Goldberg argues that such testimony would be in “the public interest and not the president’s self interest.”

Good shot, Goldberg, except: the White House attorney (not Trump’s personal attorney) Don McGahn has spent 30 hours testifying before the Mueller gang with no Executive Privilege and orders to answer any and all questions completely and honestly (which as the White House attorney he would do anyway, he works for us, not the president).

If Mueller still has unanswered questions, list them. Or is Mueller really on a “witch hunt”, looking for some problem with a business deal or “tryst” that occurred many years ago that has nothing to do with Russia, obstruction of justice, or any other crime or malfeasance in office.

Yes, let’s get back to high taxes, sluggish economy, more people on welfare and send those ugly, dirty, manufacturing jobs back to China where they belong.
