Commissioners approve contracts
Lorain County commissioners approved two more contracts for home rehabilitation during their Sept. 12 meeting.
The contracts are part of the state’s Community Housing Impact and Preservation Grant, which is aimed at helping residents to keep their houses up to code.
Burnett’s Septic Services of LaGrange will receive $17,547 for septic home repair work at a residence in the 23000 block of Royalton Road in Columbia Station.
Green Home Solutions of Cleveland will receive $43,367 for rehabilitation of a house in the 6000 block of Olive Avenue in North Ridgeville.
In other news, Commissioner Matt Lundy reminded the community that the Main Title Office in the county administration building will close from Sept. 17 to Oct. 26.
The staff will hold hours at other branch offices at 2290 Kresge Drive in Amherst, 621 Broadway in Lorain and 33121 Center Ridge Road in North Ridgeville, Lundy said.
County Administrator James Cordes said the closure is due to renovations.
“That space has not been renovated since the building was built,” Cordes said.
“That’s one of the last places in this building that has not seen any (renovations).”
Cordes said the staff had worked through some of the renovations the facility was undergoing, but this specific work requires closing the office.
