James Justice, Firelands Community Church and Christian Life Church, invites everyone join a special service as he celebrate 50 years of ministry. Pastor Justice started in Lorain in 1971 and continues to pastor in the area. A special church service will be at 6 p.m. Sept. 22 at Christian Life Church, 3559 W. Erie Ave., Lorain. Apple strudel for sale: Members of St. Francis Cabrini Altar and Rosary Society are making apple strudel. To place an order, call Pat at 440-277-5687 or Barb at 440-2774150 by Oct. 9. Free concert: Lorain Full Gospel Church, 1900 Oberlin Ave. in Lorain, is hosting a free concert Sept. 29. Doors open at 6 p.m. and the concert begins at 7 p.m. Event organizers are asking the public to attend. Rosary for unborn: Faiths and all nations are invited to pray the Rosary of the Unborn at St. Anthony of Padua Church, in the Eucharistic Chapel at 1305 E. Erie Ave., Lorain. Rosaries are prayed the first Saturday of every month, every half hour, on the hour, from 10 a.m. until 3:30 p.m. — for an end to abortion within our nation and throughout the world. (The last rosary is said at 3:30, prayed in St. Anthony Church, not in the Eucharistic Chapel, just before 4:00 p.m. Mass.) The next event is Oct. 6. Rosary Coast-to-Coast: On Oct. 7, at 4 p.m. a national effort called Rosary Coast-To-Coast will also take place locally on the St. Joseph Parish, Avon Lake grounds. This cooperative effort is being conducted by the Knights of Columbus, Holy Trinity Adult Faith Formation and neighboring parishes in conjunction with over 750 national events simultaneously conducted in addition to the live streamed event from Washington, D.C., in St. Peters and on the steps of our nation’s capitol. There are also several nations participating in this event. Bring your own chair and rosary for this outdoor event, (we will move inside the church in the event of foul weather). Worshippers Appreciation Service: The Heart of God Kingdom Ministry family will hold it Worshippers Appreciation Service at 5 p.m. Sept. 22 at the Greater Victory Church building, 559 Reid Ave., Lorain. Special guest and speaker will be Minister Lowell Pye of Men of Standard and the New Life Community Choir. The theme will be “Lord Prepare Our Worship: The Condition of a Worshipper before they lead worship.” Cost is free and there will be a free will offering. Cake and ice cream will be provided.
Cabbage roll sale: The Saint Agnes Church Altar and Rosary Society is taking cabbage roll orders until Oct. 7. Pick up is from 1 to 3:30 p.m. Oct. 17 or Oct. 18 at the church hall, 611 Lake Ave., Elyria. A dozen uncooked cabbage rolls are $12 each. Vendor, craft show: Fields United Methodist Church, 34077 Lorain Road in North Ridgeville, will host its fourth annual Fall Into Autumn vendor and craft show sponsored by Hometown Vendors. The one-day event will take place from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., Sept. 22, at the church. Organizers are planning to have more than 50 local vendors and crafters inside and outside for shopping fun. Free community meal: On the last Sunday of every month from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m., Journey of Faith Church in North Ridgeville cooks and serves a fresh hot meal for those in need in the community. This is done in connection with Community Care in North Ridgeville and other churches in the area. The community meal provides more than a hot meal though. It provides a time to sit down and relax with others in the community while being cared for.
