OLMSTED FALLS, SENIOR >> SOCCER, DEFENSE On the pitch: The Bulldogs did not allow a goal in three victories last week. Boka has been the backbone of the defense, helping Olmsted Falls tie the school record for wins in a season.

ROCKY RIVER, SENIOR >> SOCCER, FORWARD On the pitch: Devorace had a goal and assist in a 6-0 win over Lutheran West, scored twice and had an assist in a win over Holy Name and scored twice in a 3-1 win over state-ranked Lexington.

AMHERST, JUNIOR >> GOLF On the course: The Amherst junior led the charge to districts, carding a 76 to tie for second place at the sectional qualifier. The Comets advanced as a team, placing fourth with a score of 337.

BAY, SENIOR >> SOCCER, GOALKEEPER On the pitch: In three games last week, Johnston did the lion’s share to help the Rockets to victory, posting a total of 44 saves. She has been the backbone of the Rockets’ success this season.

FAIRVIEW, JUNIOR >> VOLLEYBALL, OUTSIDE HITTER On the court: In victories over Buckeye and Lutheran West, the junior tallied 39 kills, six aces, 27 digs and three errors on 33 serve receive attempts to lead the Warriors to the brink of the PAC Stripes

CLEARVIEW, SENIOR >> FOOTBALL, RUNNING BACK/LINEBACKER On the field: Renftle scored four times in four different manners against Oberlin: intercepti­on return, fumble return, rushing and receiving. He added four twopoint conversion­s as well.

AVON LAKE, SENIOR >> FOOTBALL, WIDE RECEIVER On the field: Schraff was a scoring machine in the Shoremen’s victory over North Ridgeville. The senior hauled in six passes for 125 yards and three touchdowns.

Jacob Shackelfor­d

KEYSTONE, JUNIOR >> FOOTBALL, QUARTERBAC­K On the field: Shackelfor­d spearheade­d an upset of Black River. The junior made the difference with his feet, rushing 20 times for 293 yards and five touchdowns — including the game-winner. He was 10-for-24 for 177 yards passing.

Connor Shell

BAY, SENIOR >> FOOTBALL, RUNNING BACK/LINEBACKER On the field: Shell was a vital part in the Rockets topping rival Rocky River. The senior rushed 21 times for 111 yards and a touchdown, adding a second touchdown via intercepti­on. He also has six tackles, including one for a loss.
