God has abundance of rewards and blessings

Today, let’s look back for a moment and recall the blessings and wonders God has provided for us.

A while back, I read the Book of Habakkuk 3 in the Old Testament. There, I learned that most of what the prophet Habakkuk wrote about were miraculous acts of God from the past. Habakkuk was looking back in reverence to the great things God had done.

He’s remembering what God did when he rescued His people from Egypt; the way in which God overcame the Egyptians and parted the Red Sea; and how, at the request of Joshua, “The sun and moon stood still in their habitation.” (3:11).

Why was Habakkuk looking back at yesterday? Because Habakkuk was living in difficult, unjust times and wanted to remember what the majesty of God had done before. He needed encouragement, strength and hope for the future. Habakkuk knew that God was capable of doing all things. So, even as Habakkuk viewed the outward circumstances of his present, adverse afflictions, he knew all was not lost, for God could intervene and bring him through triumphantly.

Moreover, Habakkuk resolved to be joyful, and rejoiced in the Lord, as we see in the song of worship in which he wrote: “Though the fig tree does not bud, and there are no grapes on the vines, though the olive crop fails, and the fields produce no food, though there are no sheep in the pen, and no cattle in the stalls, yet I will rejoice in the Lord, I will be joyful in God my Savior.” (Habakkuk 3:17-18).

Today, let’s look back for a moment and recall the blessings and wonders God has provided for us. What past difficulties have inspired you to new achievements? What ‘blessings in disguise’ have transpired in your life? Ponder past situations that turned around for good personally and professionally, and make note of them in a journal for future reference.

In spite of it all, no matter how bleak the probability of success is in whatever we may face at this time, or when life just doesn’t make sense, if we are going to lead joyful and productive lives, we must always keep God in the forefront of our minds, remember the blessings He has provided for us in the past, and comparable to Habakkuk, rejoice in the Lord.

Let us think about how God brought us out of a circumstance, that we thought would never come out right. Let’s bring to mind the great relationships He has brought into our lives. Let us summon up when we were at the right place at the right time and received an unexpected blessing. And, contemplate how we were kept safe, held back from making a mistake, or when somehow, our needs were abundantly met.

Regardless of what challenges you are now confronting, God is faithful. Remember, if God sent a miracle before, and has brought you through difficulties in the past, He can accomplish it again.

So, daily, let us praise Him for what He has already done, and for all that He will do for our futures. Think the thoughts of God and all through the day, utter prayers of thankfulness and say, “I am grateful for Your hand of protection,” “Thank you, God, for the new door that is about to open,” “I praise you for restoring my health,” “Thank you for blessing my family,” and “I trust that at the perfect time, I will accomplish what You’ve called me to do.” And as we genuinely express our appreciation, I believe, God will pour out His blessings in even greater and amazing ways.

Hence, be filled with hope, enthusiasm and divine expectancy. Speak aloud what you desire to come into your life. And dare to dream big, Godsized dreams and then do your best to go out and make them all come true! Don’t stop being ‘you’ or let anything hold you back. No aspiration is too big for you to achieve with faith in God, self-reliance, and hard work.

The Bible says in Ephesians 2:10, “You are God’s masterpiece.” You’re someone special. You are valuable, worthy, strong, and qualified. Your life is not an accident or a mistake. You have extraordinary gifts, for God has called you to a purpose in this world. Therefore, smile, and carry yourself with confidence. Hold your head up high and be your best each day. There are many victories yet to come for you. God has a wonderful plan for your life that’s full of love, joy and successes.

Accordingly, let’s pause, recall the miracles, and thank God for what He has provided in the past. “I will remember the deeds of the Lord; yes, I will remember Your miracles of long ago.” – (Psalm 77:11). Right now, He is working in your midst. Trust God. Ponder upon the good. Speak faith-filled words. Expect positive results and follow Him completely. God loves you and His hand is reaching up and gently moving you in the direction of His divine plan.

One of my favorite songs is titled, “Do It Again.” It’s by songwriters: Christopher Brown, Steven Furtick, Mack Brock, and Matthew Redman. It is a powerful declaration song that reminds me of what God can do in our lives. And with joyful expectation, let’s ponder upon what He is yet to do in our future. For if God moved mountains for you in the past, He will ‘do it again.’

“I’ve seen You move, come move the mountains. And I believe, I’ll see You do it again. You made a way, where there was no way. And I believe, I’ll see You do it again.”

It’s time for situations to finally come together. This is your season to grasp new God-given opportunities. It is your year that goals and dreams will be accomplished. So, live the purpose for which God has made you. Get excited about the future. God has an abundance of rewards and blessings in store for you.
