Lorain-Medina Rural Electric Cooperative selects new GM
The Lorain-Medina Rural Electric Cooperative, 22898 West Road in Wellington, known as LMRE, has selected a new general manager.
Edward VanHoose, CEO of Clay Electric Cooperative Inc. in Flora, Ill., was selected by a board comprised of Rural Electric Cooperative and North Central Electric Cooperative of Attica representatives as the eighth general manager, according to a news release.
VanHoose will succeed Markus Bryant, who is retiring in January after 24 years with the Rural Electric Cooperative.
VanHoose also will serve as president of the Rural Electric Cooperative and North Central Electric Cooperative’s shared-service cooperative Federated Energy Services Cooperative, known as FESCO, and will serve as general manager for both cooperatives, the release said.
VanHoose will work with Bryant starting in mid-November until Dec. 11, when VanHoose officially will assume FESCO president duties.
The two will work together on the management transition until Bryant’s retirement date Jan. 2, according to the release.
“I appreciate the faith the FESCO board has placed in me as the incoming president,” VanHoose said in the release. “My family and I are incredibly excited to begin our journey with both cooperatives, and we look forward to many years of service in northern Ohio.”
