Man charged with having child porn
Accused of having photos of 12-year-old girl
An Elyria man faces federal charges after authorities say he coerced a 12-year-old girl into sending him nude photos of herself.
Christopher Goodin, 33, was charged with receiving and distributing child pornography after he was placed into custody Oct. 10 after a federal search warrant was executed at his residence, according to a news releases from the FBI.
According to the federal complaint, Goodin posed as a 12-yearold female on the Internet and enticed an actual 12-year-old girl to send him nude and sexually explicit photos of herself.
Goodin continued the online relationship with the girl, coercing and threatening her in order to receive additional pornographic images of a minor, the release said.
The child informed her mother of the online relationship and the photos she had sent over the internet, according to the release.
In August, Salt Lake City FBI agents interviewed the girl’s mother and provided consent for her daughter’s cell phone to be examined, the release said.
Agents identified Goodin as the individual posing as a 12-year-old girl, according to the release.
During the search of his home, Goodin admitted to using the screen name “Shorty853.”
A review of his cell phone was conducted and nude and sexually explicit photos of the 12-year-old were located in the photos section
on his phone, according to the release.
Numerous videos and images, possibly additional child pornography, were obtained from Goodin’s cell phone, the release said.
The FBI will examine additional photos and videos to determine if they meet criteria for child pornography, said the release.
Goodin appeared in federal court Oct. 10 and will appear at 2 p.m. Oct. 15 in Judge Thomas M. Parker’s courtroom for a detention hearing.
