Mercy Health Lorain has been recognized as one of the area’s top employers with the NorthCoast 99 award by the Employer’s Resource Council, according to a news release.

Mercy Health Lorain, which includes Mercy Health Lorain Hospital (formerly Mercy Regional Medical Center) and Mercy Health Allen Hospital in Oberlin, is being honored for the ninth time.

NorthCoast 99 is in its 20th year of recognizing great places to work for top performing talent that helps further deliver on an organization’s promise to full its mission: a mission that Mercy Health has extended for more than 125 years in Lorain County, according to the release.

“We are proud of the team we have at Mercy Health, as they exemplify the values that are core to the mission,” said Edwin Oley, senior vice president and chief executive officer at Mercy Health Lorain. “Values such as integrity, compassion and service, each of which allows our team to care expertly for those throughout the county.”

Awardees of the NorthCoast 99 award are evaluated based on policies and practices related to the attraction and retention of top performers, as well as data collected from employee surveys – ultimately allowing organizations such as Mercy Health to continue to innovate and grow to serve the community they operate within for decades to come, the release said.

“We’re extremely honored to recognize the 2018 NorthCoast 99 winners,” said Kelly Keefe, president of the Employer’s Resource Council. “These organizations have earned the right to call themselves a great workplace by their dedication to attracting, supporting, retaining and motivating their top performers.”
