The Morning Journal (Lorain, OH)
JVS is important to Lorain County economy
The Lorain County Chamber of Commerce celebrated its 30th anniversary this year. Since our founding in 1988, we have been a partner with the Lorain County JVS and we have supported their high school and adult career center.
The JVS is an important economic development partner in Lorain County, especially as new technology continues to drive jobs.
Recruiting and retaining a skilled and diverse workforce is a major factor that enhances our economic growth, especially as businesses look to local educational partners for life-long learning opportunities. Not to mention providing quality education with up to date facilities helps determine whether or not someone moves into Lorain County or stays here to raise their family.
The Board of Directors of the Lorain County Chamber of Commerce knows this and this is why they voted unanimously to support the Lorain County JVS and the Issue 8 initiative. The permanent improvement levy is vital to the JVS to make renovations, improve security, upgrade building mechanicals and infrastructure, renovate labs and upgrade technology.
For the past 30 years the Chamber and our board have been passionate about enhancing the economic vitality of Lorain County and that is why we are asking that you Vote Yes for the JVS and Issue 8. Anthony (Tony) Gallo
