Murray Ridge bowler, teams shine

Murray Ridge Supported Employment Program participant Kris Sommer, from Vermilion, bowled his firstever 300 game in a Thursday evening league at Rebman Recreation in Lorain. He works at the Rest Area group employment site two days a week and also participates in Special Olympics.

The Murray Ridge Raiders Fall Bowling team recently traveled to Holiday Lanes in Columbus for the 2018 Special Olympics Ohio State Bowling Tournament.

The Raiders had five teams competing at the highest level of Special Olympics Bowling in the state, and all five teams placed in their divisions.

As a group, they brought back 2 Team Gold Medals, one Team Silver Medal, and two Team Bronze Medals.

The team of Grant Holbrook, Mindy Eckenrode, Donna Wolfe, and Sarah Ward won the Gold Medal.

The team of Joseph Cechura, Lori Norton, Wally Schrenkel, and Wendy Smitkowski won the Gold Medal.

The team of Mark Wright, Andrew Prihoda, Tim Quisenberry, and Jonah Griffore won the Silver Medal.

The team of John Ahart, Jamie Dunbar, Kevin Rivera, and Andy Rivera won the Bronze Medal.

The team of David Zsigray, Andrew Donald, Andrea Stewart, and Dennis Johnson won the Bronze Medal.
