Nord Family Foundation doles $2.3M in grants
The Nord Family Foundation has announced the list of nonprofit organizations in the fields of health and social services, education, civic affairs and arts that have received grants this cycle.
At the Oct. 20, Board of Trustees meeting, grants approved totaled $2.3 million to be disbursed in Lorain and Cuyahoga counties; Columbia, S.C.; metro Denver; Boston; Penn Yan, N.Y., and other areas of interest, according to a news release from the Nord Family Foundation.
Twenty-eight other actions totaling $60,471 also were ratified at the meeting bringing the total grants authorized in this round to $2.4 million.
The Nord Family Foundation is a successor to the charitable trust originally established by Walter G. Nord in 1952. The predecessor organization contributed more than $12 million to a variety of charitable causes between 1953 and 1988, primarily in Lorain County, according to the release.
The Nord Family Foundation has contributed more than $126 million to nonprofit organizations in northern Ohio and selected geographic areas of family interest, the release said.
The Foundation’s grantmaking guidelines, prior press releases and Faces of Philanthropy videos are available at www.nordff. org.
