Alice (nee Wilson) Roberson, 93, passed away on November 11, 2018 from complicati­ons that she bravely faced for a few months.

Beloved wife for 63 years to Israel Foy Roberson Jr., and last four loving years with William E. Johnson. Dearest mother of Kathleen (David) Rybarczyk, Linda (Ken) Miller, Diane Roberson, Barbara (Cliff) Virnelson, Arthur (Cheryl) Roberson, Bruce (Judy) Roberson; 15 grandchild­ren; great21 grandchild­ren; and one brother, Howard Wilson, deceased. Alice graduated from Rocky River High School. She was hand selected to learn drafting at John Hopkins University. She contribute­d her skills for the war effort while working at Warner Swasey of Cleveland. She studied Early Child Education at Baldwin Wallace College while raising her family of six children.

Alice had a fierce desire to live every day y to it’s fullest. She was passionate about her volunteer work, charity for veterans, cancer patients, and giving all she could to her family, church family, friends, neighbors, and homeless animals. Alice wrote a book about twins, won awards for her pies and jams at the county fairs, played the piano and organ, painted beautiful oil and water color paintings, quilted, made wood carvings, knit, made jewelry, did stone cutting/polishing, loved line dancing, made ceramics, took ice skating dance classes, and gardened. Alice belonged to the P.E.O. and Eastern Stars Clubs and supported all parent functions at the children’s schools. She was a loving grandmothe­r and had the children over for sleep overs complete with cookie making, crafts, or learning lessons about nature. One of her favorite passions was quilting with other members of her church. She played in the church Hand Bell Choirs for a total of 40 years. Alice was an accomplish­ed seamstress and once sewed four bride maid’s dresses, complete with capes. She was so talented, she also made the wedding cake and decorated it with gorgeous frosting roses. Alice’s life has been immortaliz­ed by all she left behind because she gave of herself freely and lovingly.

Memorial service will be held on November 17th, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at the Avon United Methodist Church, 37711 Detroit Rd., Avon, OH 44011: (440) 934-5121. Pastor Micah Holland will deliver the service.

In lieu of flowers, contributi­ons may be made in memory of her at The Avon United Methodist Church.

Following the service, refreshmen­ts will be served in the “Gathering Room.” Memories of Alice’s life will be on display.
