Charities to benefit from WOBL, WDLW’s annual giving tree

Radio stations WOBLAM 1320/FM 107.7 and WDLW-AM 1380/FM 98.9 are seeking donations for Community Actions to Save Strays, based in Oberlin, and Blessing Box, operating in Lorain County, for the 2018 “CATSS & Blessing Box Tree.”

The radio stations’ annual “Giving Tree” is to help those less fortunate in the community, according to a news release.

CATSS is in need of paper towels, antibacter­ial hand sanitizer, clean or used towels and/or bedding, ceramic or stainless steel food dishes, cat carriers, cat toys, scoopable or clumping cat litter and scoopers, disposable litter boxes and blue Dawn dish washing liquid, the release said.

For specific cat and kitten food brands to donate, call organizer Lorie A. Wilber, at 440-774-1329, ext. 23.

Blessing Box is collecting small, nonperisha­ble items such as boxes of macaroni and cheese, small cereal boxes, Ramen noodle packets or containers, oatmeal packets, Pop Tarts, small canned items like tuna fish, chunky chicken and Spam, individual­ly wrapped snack-size items, travel-size toothpaste, toothbrush­es, shampoo, tissues and individual­ly wrapped hygiene products.

Blessing box cannot use jars, large cans or boxes, hand sanitizer, Q-Tips, razors and over-the-counter medication, according to the release.

Items and cash donations can be dropped off at 45624 U.S. Route 20 in Oberlin until Dec. 16, the release said.

Cash donations will be designated per wishes of the donor or split evenly if not specified, the release said.
