Detectives at the Elyria Police Department are looking for two suspects they say were involved in a Nov. 24 armed robbery at a gasoline station.

Police responded at 10 p.m. to the department’s lobby, 18 West Ave., for a 46-year-old Elyria male victim who said he was robbed while getting gas at 803 W. River Road, according to Elyria police Capt. Chris Costantino.

The man told police he was parked at one of the station’s pumps when a burgundy colored, older model Chevrolet Tahoe drove up to a nearby pump, Costantino said.

The victim went into the gas station store to purchase items and returned to his vehicle when the driver of the Tahoe tried to get his attention, he said.

While the driver was attempting to distract the victim, the passenger of the Tahoe got out and pointed a handgun at the victim and demanded money, Costantino said.

The victim gave the suspect an undisclosed amount of money and the suspects got back into the Tahoe and left the scene in an unknown direction, the captain said.

The passenger, who was holding the gun, was described as a black male with a dark complexion, 5 feet 8 inches tall, with dreadlocks and wearing a blue hooded sweatshirt, Costantino said.

The driver was a black male with a lighter complexion than his passenger, he said.
