PLAYERS TO WATCH
(in alphabetical order) G Gina Adams, Jr., Westlake: A candidate for Southwestern Conference player of the year. Averaged 16.2 points, 7.9 rebounds and 2.1 assists per game last year.
F Maddie Edgerly, Sr., Bay: Sparkplug of the Rockets’ offense should only see numbers go up with new uptempo gameplan. Averaged 10.9 points, 6.7 rebounds, 2.3 assists and 2.3 steals per game last year.
G Elizabeth Flynn, Sr., Avon: High basketball IQ means that Flynn almost always makes the correct decision. Averaged 11.0 points, 5.0 rebounds, 3.5 steals and 1.5 assists per game last year. G Clare Kelly, Sr., Olmsted Falls: A player who is strong on offense, but underrated for her defensive prowess. Averaged 12.3 points, 7.2 rebounds, 3.3 assists and 2.3 steals per game last year.
F Alexis Lehmkuhl, Sr., Wellington: The defending Lorain County D-III Player of the Year will be one of the best under the hoop this season. Averaged 15.2 points, 9.4 rebounds and 1.9 blocks per game last year.
G Emily McClain, Jr., Open Door: The Patriots will look to impress in their inaugural Lake Effect Conference season, and McClain will lead the charge. Averaged 16.5 points, 3.0 rebounds, 3.2 assists and 3.1 steals per game last year.
G Arianna Negron, Jr., Avon Lake: With a more experienced team around her, Negron’s number should see great improvement as she leads the Shoregals’ charge for a Southwestern Conference title. Averaged 10.0 points, 6.4 rebounds, 3.7 steals and 2.0 assists per game last year. F Karissa Rankin, Sr., Oberlin: Rankin should lead a charge for the Phoenix to surprise in the Patriot Athletic Conference. Averaged 15.5 points, 12.0 rebounds and 1.2 steals per game last year.
G Brooke Rebman, So., Clearview: Will not be able to surprise opponents this year, but possesses the ability to adapt. Averaged 17.7 points, 3.9 rebounds, 5.4 steals and 4.3 assists per game last year.
F Ally Winnen, Jr., Elyria Catholic: A double-double machine that will only be more motivated after last season’s trip to Columbus. Averaged 12.6 points and 10.3 rebounds per game last year.
