Milan, Berlin libraries to host holiday home tours

The Milan-Berlin Friends of the Library are presenting “Homes for the Holiday” this year.

A news release on the event indicated this will feature a tour of some of Milan’s historic homes.

The self-guided tours will take place between 1 p.m. and 6 p.m., Dec. 1, and the proceeds will benefit the Milan and Berlin Heights libraries, the release said.

Tickets are $12 in advance and $15 at the door on the day of the event.

Pre-sold tickets are available at the Milan Public Library, 19 E. Church St. in Milan, and at the Berlin Heights Public Library, 4 E. Main St. in Berlin Heights.

On Dec. 1, tickets only will be available at the Milan Library, the release said.

Other Milan ticket locations are D’Vine Design, The Salvage Divas, Village Drive-thru, the Milan Wine Post and CrossTown Goods.

Tickets also are available at Naturally Country and Schilds IGA in Norwalk and Corso’s Flower and Garden Center in Sandusky.

Before the tour begins, the Moore Hens, a Celtic music ensemble, will perform at noon in the Milan Library’s lobby and participan­ts may view items that will be raffled off, including gift baskets and holiday décor, the release said.

A tour ticket comes with one raffle ticket and additional tickets can be purchased for $1 each or six tickets for $5.

The drawing will take place at 5 p.m. 1 and winners will be notified by phone call or text message, according to the release.

Six of the eights stops on the tour are within a few blocks of the Milan Library and the distance from the first to last homes is about a mile.

Participan­ts may walk or drive to each home and merchants in Milan will hold extended hours to give additional shopping and dining opportunit­ies.
