Bernice M. Bischoff, 97, (nee Miller) went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Sunday, December 2, 2018 at the Amherst Manor Nursing Home following a brief illness. Mrs. Bischoff was born in Lorain on March 1, 1921, the daughter of the late Lloyd and Wanda (nee Gutowski) Miller. She was a lifelong resident of Lorain and graduated from Lorain High School. She was a member of Zion Lutheran Church in Lorain and participat­ed in several of the church’s ladies’ groups. Mrs. Bischoff and her late husband, Robert owned and operated the limousine service used by many of the area funeral homes. She was a devoted and loving wife, mother and grandmothe­r. Bernice loved her family dearly and her life’s purpose was to help them in any way she could. Mrs. Bischoff is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Doris and Robert Wenzel of Lorain, grandchild­ren Mike (Megan) Wenzel, Tim (Heather) Wenzel, Heather (Jason) Essenmache­r, and Daniel (fiancee’ Becky Murawski) Wenzel, and four great grandchild­ren. Her family thanks her faithful friend and neighbor Jill Bainbridge for watching out for her in so many ways. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Robert in 2003, and her brother Raymond. As per her request, funeral services were private with her beloved son-in-law Bob leading the service. She was laid to rest next to her beloved husband in Elmwood Cemetery. The family suggest that memorial contributi­ons may be made to Zion Lutheran Church, 5100 Ashland Ave., Lorain, Ohio 44053.
