Woman charged with felony after allegedly kicking police officers
An Elyria woman is facing felony charges after she allegedly kicked two police officers Dec. 9, according to an Elyria police report.
Eva L. Myers, 38, was charged with two counts of assault on a police officer, fourth-degree felonies, obstructing official business, a fifth-degree felony, resisting arrest and criminal damaging, both firstdegree misdemeanors, and disorderly conduct while intoxicated, a minor misdemeanor, according to the report.
Officers responded at 5:49 p.m. to Harry Buffalo, 3619 Midway Mall, for an intoxicated female causing problems at the bar.
They met with Myers, who told them she had been drinking since 1 p.m. that day, according to the report.
Officers told Myers the manager wanted her to leave the establishment.
Myers refused to leave, leading to officers attempting to place her under arrest.
After some time of resisting, officers finally were able to put handcuffs on Myers and take her to the cruiser, the report said.
While an officer was searching her purse, Myers kicked another officer in the hand and reached for the other officer’s stun gun, according to the report.
The officer then pushed Myers against the cruiser, hitting her head on the side of the vehicle.
Another officer placed her into the cruiser, but she laid down in the car and kicked the officer in the head, breaking the officer’s glasses, the report said.
Myers, who is being held at Lorain County Jail on a $14,730 bond, must appear at 2 p.m. Dec. 17 before Elyria Municipal Court Judge Robert C. White.
