Ford plant donates money for children in need
The Ford Motor Co. Ohio Assembly Plant, 650 Miller Road in Avon Lake, Dec. 17 held its annual collection to allow less fortunate children in the area the opportunity to shop for new clothes.
“This is our donation to Mary Lee Tucker Clothea-Child,” said Amy Brown, employee resource coordinator at the plant. “The collection of the money, which is organized by The Morning Journal, allows children to go on a shopping trip to buy new hats, coats and any other items they might need.
“We take a lot of the things we have for granted, so it is nice to have the opportunity to help provide clothing for children.”
Brown said the plant usually raises over $3,000 for Mary Lee Tucker Clothe-aChild.
“It’s just something we like to do to help out the community,” she said. “The workers here are very generous,
and the donations are some of the best we have all year.
“It goes to a great cause, and we always want to help those who are less fortunate.”
Jason Moore, manager of the plant, said he’s always proud of the donations from the employees.
“Workers here always to a great job, and are very generous,” Moore said. “We love donating to charities, and it is always great to see the enthusiasm and passion people have for the less fortunate in their community .”
Assisting the community is something the plant always wants to do, he said.
“It’s a way to give back, and we are always looking for ways to help the community anyway we can,” Moore said. “Mary Lee Tucker is one of those that is near and dear to the hearts of those who work here.
“We all know someone that could use the help, and we are happy to provide it.”
