Ferret reported stolen from Elyria store

Police are looking for two suspects who stole a ferret Dec. 18 from an Elyria pet store.

Officers responded to Best In Pets, 233 Abbe Road, for the robbery that took place at 1 p.m., according to an Elyria police report.

The manager of the store said a black female, with curly black hair, a pink shirt and a black jacket, along with a black male, with short hair and a red shirt with a skull on it, walked around the store for a couple of minutes before arriving in the ferret section, the report said.

The male then grabbed a tan-colored ferret, valued at $150, and placed it in the woman’s purse, according to the report.

The two then walked around the store for an additional five minutes before leaving in a silver vehicle, possibly a four-door Buick Regal, the report said.

Elyria police search for suspect in break-ins

The Elyria Police Department is looking for a suspect who broke into multiple vehicles Dec. 19 in a local business’ storage lot.

Officers responded at 9 a.m. to Stop-N-Stor, 1534 Lowell St., for an employee who arrived to find numerous campers, trailers and vehicles that someone broke into, according to an Elyria police report.

The employee said she did not see anyone on the premises, and she was the last one to lock up the business the night before.
