City seeks nominations for Citizen/Project of year
The Avon Lake Community Council is accepting nominations for the 2019 Avon Lake Citizen of the Year and Project of the Year, according to a news release.
Both nominations are for those individuals or groups that have significant involvement in and dedication to, the community of Avon Lake.
Nominees for Citizen of the Year must be an Avon Lake resident who has provided significant community service as a volunteer, without monetary reward, the release said.
The nominee may, but is not required to, belong to a service organization.
Project of the Year nominees may be an individual or group.
The award is given to a project which merits community-wide recognition for its positive impact on the community and Avon Lake residents.
The deadline for nominations is March 15.
Nomination forms are available at Avon Lake Public Library, 32649 Electric Blvd., and Avon Lake City Hall, 150 Avon Belden Road.
Completed forms can be dropped off at Avon Lake City Hall, emailed to modonnell@avonlake.org or mailed to: Martin O’Donnell, Project/ Citizen of the Year, City of Avon Lake, 150 Avon Belden Road, Avon Lake, OH 44012.

In May 2019, the Citizen of the Year and Project of the Year will be honored and recognized at a special evening dinner.
Details for the event will be announced at a later date.
The Avon Lake Community Council is made up of more than 40 community organizations that work together to help share resources, ideas and awareness for the good of all the groups, the release said.
