Man indicted on child pornography charges
An Elyria man was indicted in federal court on child pornography charges, according to a release from the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Northern District of Ohio.
Brian Louk, 58, was charged with receiving, distributing and possessing visual depictions of minors engaged in sexually explicit conduct.
Louk knowingly received and distributed numerous computer files which contained minors engaged in sexually explicit conduct, according to the release.
The indictment said Louk committed the crimes between Aug. 6 and Dec. 10, 2018.
Louk also possessed a computer t hat contained child pornography on or about Jan. 18 of this year, the release said.
Assistant U.S. Attorney Carol M. Skutnik is prosecuting the case while the FBI’s Child Exploitation Task Force investigated.
On Jan. 18, the Elyria Police Department arrested Louk and charged him with 17 counts of pandering sexually oriented materials involving a minor, a second degree-felony, according to an Elyria police news release.
The charges were dismissed Jan. 28, according to court records.
Elyria police detectives, FBI agents and Internet Crimes against Children investigators executed a search warrant at Louk’s house, 114 Homer Court, during a child pornography investigation, the release said.
Detectives found numerous video and still images of adolescents and toddlers engaged in sexual activity with adults, according to the release.
Louk admitted to detectives he was responsible for downloading the images to his computer, police said.
