Volunteer group seeks cleaning supplies for residents and families

Invest Elyria is hosting a Cleaning Kit Drive for residents and families in need until March 18. According to a news release from Invest Elyria, a nonprofit organizati­on of Elyria volunteers, many residents are struggling to buy necessary supplies to keep their houses clean. The goal of the drive is to collect enough essential cleaning items for at least 50 families, the release said. Items needed are glass cleaners, paper towels, reusable wipes, dish washing soap, general spray cleaner and toilet bowl cleaner. Donations can be made on Invest Elyria’s website: www.investelyr­ia.org/ donate.html or at Dairy Queen, 641 Hilliard Road in Elyria, from 10:30 a.m. to 10 p.m., Monday through Saturday, and from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m., Sundays. Dairy Queen can be reached at 440-365-4411. Invest Elyria encourages residents and neighbors of the community to generate to the cause. According to their website, their group has a genuine desire to promote Elyria’s community as a great place to live, work and raise a family. With a focus on the arts, food and commerce, they believe in keeping Elyria businesses thriving and improving the morale of our community. The organizati­on also develops initiative­s to encourage good citizenshi­p and bring neighbors together, the website said. Additional­ly, Invest Elyria supports and is actively involved in keeping Elyria’s streets and parks safe and clean.
