Serving up honors

JVS Culinary students receive high honors at regional competition

Students from the Lorain County JVS Culinary Academy recently participated in the regional competition of Family Career & Community Leaders of America held on the campus of Lorain County Community College. Culinary Arts senior instructor Chef Tim Michitsch shared what an outstanding job all of the students did at the competition. “These students worked very hard to prepare for this competition and they all should be proud of their exceptional performances,” he said. The names of the students and their competition events are listed below by the student’s associate school district.

CLEARVIEW

Sierra Baker (Culinary Arts senior) received a silver medal in the Culinary Team Event; Katie Brunecz (Culinary Arts junior) received a silver medal in the Culinary Team Event; Briana Fantauzzi (Culinary Arts senior) received a silver medal in the Culinary Team Event; Owen Polly (Culinary Arts senior) received a silver medal in the Culinary Team Event; Megan Rataj (Culinary Arts junior) received a silver medal in the Culinary Team Event

ELYRIA

Joyce Fraticelli (Bakery and Pastry Arts junior) received a silver medal in the Creative Cake Event; Rebecca Perrine (Culinary Arts junior) received a silver medal in the Culinary Team Event; Dakota Serrano (Hospitality Services B senior) received a gold medal in the Product Development Event; Amnesty Vinson (Bakery and Pastry Arts senior) received a gold medal in the Pastry Tray Event

KEYSTONE

Mai Kaewsoongnern (Culinary Arts junior) received a silver medal in the Garde Manger Event; Brianna Lindsey (Culinary Arts junior) received a silver medal in the Culinary Team Event; Samantha Nelson (Bakery and Pastry Arts junior) received a silver medal in the Creative Cake Event; Jason Rising (Hospitality Services B senior) received a gold medal in the Product Development Event

Anna Baldwin (Bakery and Pastry Arts senior) received a gold medal in the Pastry Tray Event; Chris Ice (Culinary Arts senior) received a silver medal in the Applied Culinary Math Event; Ronnie Kisner (Culinary Arts senior) received a gold medal in the Applied Culinary Math Event
