• Clippers (65-50): Corey Kluber took to the mound for Triple-A Columbus on Aug. 9. The right-hander suffered a forearm fracture May 1 after being hit with a line drive. He pitched three innings, surrendere­d, two hits, two runs, walked one, struck out a pair and gave up two home runs. Speaking of home runs, Max Moroff and Mark Mathias homered for the Clippers in the 4-3 loss to the Pawtucket Red Sox. Andrew Velazquez and Ka’ai Tom both doubled. Catcher Dioner Navarro went 1-for-3.

• RubberDuck­s (53-63):

A three-run eighth inning propelled Double-A Akron to a 5-1 win against the New Hampshire Fisher Cats (5065). Nellie Rodriguez went 2-for-3 with a double and an RBI. Mayfield High School grad Mitch Longo scored a run. Nolan Jones went 1-for3 with a run and an RBI. Alexis Pantoja went 2-for-4 with a run. Connor Marabell went 1-for-4 with two RBI.

• Hillcats (53-59): Jodd Carter and Mitch Reeves doubled in advanced SingleA Lynchburg’s loss to the Salem Red Sox, 4-2. Will Benson had an RBI. Steven Kwan was perfect going 2-for-2 and Tyler Freeman went 2-for-5. Carter and Mike Rivera went 1-for-4 and Reeves 1-for-5.

• Captains (64-51): Miguel Jerez hit his ninth homer in Single-A Lake County’s loss to the Great Lakes Loons, 5-4. Jerez went 2-for-4. Ike Freeman went 1-for-2 with a run and an RBI. Bo Naylor went 1-for-3.

• Scrappers (23-29): Henderson De Oleo doubled in short-season Single-A Mahoning Valley’s victory against the Auburn Doubledays, 6-4. The Scrappers scored two in the eighth. De Oleo scored on a wild pitch and Korey Holland scored on a Brayan Rocchio single. Holland went 1-for-2 with a run and Rocchio went 2-for-5 with two RBI.
