Elyria man accused of killing foster brother
A 27-year-old Elyria man is facing murder charges in connection to the fatal stabbing of his foster brother.
A 27-year-old Elyria man is facing murder charges in connection to the fatal stabbing of his foster brother early Aug. 16.
Antonio F. Sprinkle was charged with murder in the death of 27-yearold Antwan T. Dormendo, of
Elyria.
Sprinkle was arrested at 6:49 a.m. Aug. 16, according to a news release from Elyria police.
When he was questioned by detectives, Sprinkle admitted his involvement in the stabbing, the release said.
At 12:13 a.m., officers responded to Gas N Go, 237 Lake Ave., in reference to Dormendo, who was bleeding profusely, according to an Elyria police news release.
They found him inside the store with what appeared to be multiple stab wounds to his chest.
LifeCare transported the victim to UH Elyria Medical Center, where he died.
Detectives learned a vehicle seen leaving the scene shortly after the incident was recovered at a gasoline station on Memphis Avenue in Cleveland.
This vehicle was transported to Elyria and was processed by detectives and evidence technicians.
Sprinkle was located walking on Middle Avenue near 8th Street in Elyria and was taken into custody without incident, according to the release.
He is being held at the Lorain County Jail without bond pending his arraignment in Elyria Municipal Court.
The investigation is ongoing.
An autopsy is scheduled.
