• Clippers (70-52): Jake Bauers homered and Daniel Johnson doubled in TripleA Columbus’ defeat of the Charlotte Knights, 5-4, on the road Aug. 16. Bauers went 3-for-5 and Eric Stamets 3-for-4 to lead the offense. Scott Moss claimed the victory from the mound. His first win came from five innings of work, surrenderi­ng five hits, two runs, two walks, four K’s and a home run. Cam Hill earned his first save.

• RubberDuck­s (55-68): The Erie SeaWolves got the best of Double-A Akron, defeating the Ducks, 5-1. Trenton Brooks is credited for the run with a homer while going 1-for-4. Alex Call doubled and went 1-for-4. Connor Marabell and Nellie Rodriguez went 1-for-4. Andruw Monasterio and Oscar Gonzalez went 1-for-3, and Alexis Pantoja went 2-for-4.

• Hillcats (57-62): Tyler Freeman went 2-for-4 with a double in advanced SingleA Lynchburg’s win against the Carolina Mudcats, 6-5. Will Benson also doubled and went 1-for-4. Connor Smith subbed in for Jonathan Laureano and went 1-for-2. Steven Kwan went 2-for-5, and Mitch Reeves went 2-for-3 with a double. Justin Garza earned the win and is 6-8. He pitched 4 1⁄3 innings, and Jonathan Teaney earned his thrid save.

• Captains (67-55): Clark Scolamiero homered and Quentin Holmes doubled in Single-A Lake County’s loss to the South Bend Cubs, 8-1. Scolamiero went 1-for3, Holmes 2-for-3 and Jose Fermin 2-for-4.

• Scrappers (28-31): Short-season Single-A Mahoning Valley routed the State College Spikes, 10-3. Brayan Lavasitda led the offense, going 3-for-4. Carlos Vargas improved to 4-4 on the mound with the win. He threw five innings, surrendere­d two hits, one run, walked three and struck out eight.
