Westlake falls in opener against Rocky River

It started right from the second half kickoff, which Owen Bebie returned 38 yards to the Westlake 42. Following an offsides penalty against Westlake, Tommy Bebie carried the ball four consecutiv­e times, culminatin­g in a 5-yard scoring run. His brother added the PAT to make it 13-7 just 1:21 into the third quarter.

Westlake failed to get a first down on its ensuing possession, and after a short punt return by Owen Bebie, Tommy Bebie carried the ball three consecutiv­e times, the last being a 46-yard scoring jaunt that saw him bounce off a hit at the line of scrimmage, slide to the left side and then outrun the Westlake defense all the way down the sideline.
