Stocker Arts Center has a wealth of new shows planned for coming months

Two dazzling performers and composers in one fabulous evening! Cabaret star Ann Hampton Callaway has written songs for Barbra Streisand and Carole King and received a Tony nomination for her performanc­e in “Swing.” on Broadway. Singersong­writer Susan Werner is a concert favorite who has written songs for Tom Jones and Michael Feinstein. They’ll perform separately and together in an epic display of piano chops and dazzling wit that you won’t want to miss. From the release: SiriusXM Broadway (channel 72) host Seth Rudetsky (and Oberlin College grad) recounts his horrific and hilarious high school experience right in front of you in his one-man play. “Rhapsody in Seth” is all about Seth growing up obsessed with Broadway and being tormented in his high school at the same time. Due to popular demand and the thrilling audience response to Neil Berg’s “50 Years of Rock & Roll” last season, Neil is bringing us “50 Years of Rock & Roll Part 2” (1931 – 1981). Now we get to experience all the incredible Rock and Roll Hall of Fame artists and songs we didn’t have time to present in the first show. Early rock pioneers like Arthur Crudup and Wynonie Harris, who led to early legends like Fats Domino, Big Joe Turner, The Penguins, Richie Valens, Jerry Lee Lewis, Muddy Waters, as well as superstars from the tumultuous ‘60s including The Shirelles, James Brown, The Supremes, Sam Cooke, Dusty Springfiel­d and 1967’s The Summer of Love (The Mamas & The Papas, Grateful Dead, etc.). We then go on to Classic rock/ singer/songwriter­s of The ‘70s: Pink Floyd, Creedence Clearwater Revival, Eric Clapton, Lynyrd Skynyrd, James Taylor, The Allman Brothers, Boston, Styx, Heart, Bob Seger, AC/DC, as well as different songs from The Beatles, Elvis Presley, Queen, Motown, and lots more!! We will also include an incredible tribute to the greatest “One Hit Wonder” rock bands/songs ever written, like “Brandy,” “Come and Get Your Love,” and “Kung Fu Fighting.”
