3 arrested in drug raids
Two Lorain men and a woman are in custody on drug trafficking charges after search warrants were executed at two residences on the morning of Sept. 4, according to a news release from the Lorain Police Department.
Tristan Alls, 28, and Jaritza Salabarria, 20, of 1627 Cedar Drive, were arrested on a drug trafficking warrants at their residence.
Marc Santiago, 26, also was arrested on a domestic violence warrant stemming from another incident.
A search of the residence resulted in the recovery of seven grams of suspected fentanyl, the release said.
A separate search warrant was executed at Santiago’s residence at 1220 Parkway Drive.
A search uncovered about 20 grams of suspected fentanyl, according to the release.
In addition to the domestic violence warrant, Santiago is facing drug trafficking charges, police said.
An investigation into Alls, Salabarria and Santiago is ongoing.
According to authorities, due to the quantity of suspected fentanyl recovered as a result of this investigation, all three individuals may be charged federally under the Operation SOS (Sudden Opiate Surge) program.
Operation SOS is an endeavor sponsored by the federal justice system in response to the devastating effects that the opiod crisis has had on Northeast Ohio and Lorain County, the release said.
Individuals who traffic in opiates could be eligible for federal prosecution under this program.
Lorain police Narcotics Detective Matt Sedivy, who also is the lead investigator, said the search warrants were the result of an investigation by the Narcotics Unit.
The Lorain Police SWAT team, Lorain Police Criminal Investigations Division, Lorain Police K-9 Unit, Lorain Police Community Impact Unit and Elyria Police Narcotics Unit assisted in the execution of the search warrants, the release stated.
