• Dustin Crum (Midview) completed 15 of 24 passes for 198 yards and a touchdown in Kent State’s 55-16 loss at No. 8 Auburn on Sept. 14. JaTarvious Whitlow rushed for 135 yards and two touchdowns and Bo Nix ran and passed for scores to lead Auburn.

• Oberlin (0-2, 0-1 NCAC) was held scoreless for the second straight week in a 17-0 loss to host Wooster. The Yeomen averaged 1.6 yards per carry. Tight end Brandon Davies had seven catches for 58 yards.

• Visiting Baldwin Wallace (2-0, 1-0 OAC) led by as many as 24 points on the way to a 45-28 victory over host Otterbein. The Yellow Jackets returned two intercepti­ons for touchdowns.

• Isaiah Green threw two touchdown passes, including a 43-yard strike to Xavier Gaines that put host Marshall (2-1) ahead for good, and the Thundering Herd beat Ohio, 33-31.

• Michael Warren II scored three touchdowns and host Cincinnati (2-1) overcame a sluggish start for a 35-13 win over its oldest rival, Miami Ohio (1-2), the Bearcats’ 14th straight win over the RedHawks. The Bearcats are now within one victory of drawing even in the series with Miami that started in 1888. The RedHawks lead, 59-58-7.

• David Moore threw for 316 yards and a pair of touchdowns in his Central Michigan debut to lead the host Chippewas (2-1) to a 45-24 victory over Akron (0-3) in a Mid-American Conference opener.

• J’Mar Smith tossed two touchdown passes, Jaqwis Dancy ran for two scores and Amik Robertson added a pick6 to propel visiting Louisiana Tech (2-1) to a 35-7 romp over Bowling Green (1-2).

• Tua Tagovailoa threw for a career-high 444 yards and tied his personal best with five touchdowns to help visiting No. 2 Alabama (3-0) open Southeaste­rn Conference play with a 47-23 victory over South Carolina (1-2). Coach Nick Saban improved to 12-1 at Alabama in SEC openers and wiped away some bad memories of his last visit to Williams-Brice Stadium nine years ago.

• Ian Book threw a careerhigh five touchdown passes and host No. 7 Notre Dame’s defense came up with three first-half intercepti­ons in its final tuneup before a showdown at No. 3 Georgia. The Fighting Irish (2-0) beat New Mexico (1-1), 66-14.

• Journey Brown ran for 109 yards and a touchdown and host No. 13 Penn State (3-0) held off Pittsburgh (1-2), 17-10, in their 100th meeting.

• Freshman Dillon Gabriel threw for 347 yards and four touchdowns in his second college start, leading host No. 17 UCF (3-0) past Stanford (1-2), 45-27. The Knights scored on six of seven possession­s, building a 31-point halftime lead.

• Eno Benjamin reached the ball to the goal line for a 1-yard touchdown run with 50 seconds remaining, and visiting Arizona State (3-0) beat No. 18 Michigan State (2-1), 10-7, after the Spartans had a tying field goal negated for having too many men on the field.

• Kenny Yeboah put host Temple ahead on a onehanded touchdown catch late in the fourth quarter, and the Owls (2-0) used two clutch stops at the goal line to beat No. 21 Maryland (2-1), 21-17.
