Firelands Physician Group receives Excellence Awards

Firelands Physician Group, of Sandusky, has been named a 2019 Pinnacle of Excellence Award winner by Press Ganey.

The Pinnacle of Excellence Award recognizes top-performing clients from health care organizations nationwide on the basis of extraordinary achievement and consistently high levels of excellence for at least three years in Patient Experience, according to a news release.

Group has continually strived to make the patient experience a key pillar in their training, staff meetings and culture, the release said.

The group reviews all feedback from patients with their care teams on a monthly basis and also meet with a Patient and Family Advisory Council to get formal input from patients throughout each year, according to the release.

The Press Ganey Pinnacle of Excellence Award is a highly regarded symbol of achievement in the health care industry, according to the release.

Jeremy Normington-Slay, president and CEO of Firelands Regional Medical Center, said the award represents an important recognition from the industry’s leader in measuring, understanding and improving the delivery of care.

“Firelands Physician Group is the only primary care and multi-specialty group in the state of Ohio to receive this prestigious award in 2019,” Normington-Slay said. “It is a testimony to the personalized, high-quality care that we deliver to the patients we serve each and every day.

The members of Firelands Physician Group have over 100 years of combined medical experience and are on the medical staff at Firelands Regional Medical Center, the release said.
