One-man musical:

Unity Spiritual Center Westlake, 23855Detro­it Road, Westlake, will present James Twyman as he performs his new one-man musical, “Brother Sun, Sister Moon,” which is based on the life of Saint Francis of Assisi, at 7 p.m. Feb. 7. People of all faiths are welcome. A love offering of $20 is suggested but all are welcome regardless of ability to pay. Tickets may be purchased online at uscwestlak­e.org or at the door. Twyman has always had a special affinity for Saint Francis of Assisi recently taking orders as a Franciscan Hermit. He was inspired to write his most recent book Giovanni and the Camino of Saint Francis. James Twyman is also the NY Times bestsellin­g author of 16 books including The Moses Code and Emissary of Light. He has recorded more than 18 music albums including the Billboard chart bestseller I AM Wishes Fulfilled along with Dr. Wayne Dyer; as well as produced/ directed seven feature films. Christ’s passion topic of sessions:

St. Peter Parish, Lorain, is presenting a fivesessio­n video and discussion program, No Greater Love — A Biblical Walk Through Christ’s Passion, presented by well-known biblical scholar and theologian, Dr. Edward Sri. Filmed in the Holy Land, all five sessions of the program will occur on Tuesdays from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m., beginning Jan. 21, and continuing through Feb. 18. A light meal will begin the evening in St. Peter’s School Cafeteria, 3655 Oberlin Ave., Lorain. A one-time $20donation is suggested to cover cost of materials but no one will be turned away for inability to pay. Justice January:

Washington Avenue Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) will host Justice January for the first four Sundays of 2020 during its 10:45 a.m. education hour. Because of the church’s strong commitment to outreach and social justice, each Sunday will highlight a specific ministry in Northeast Ohio that promotes human flourishin­g. The lineup includes Jan. 19, Liyana Asmar, of Genesis House, which provides a comprehens­ive range of family-focused services for Lorain County victims of domestic violence. The Silent Witness exhibit will be available for viewing at the church Jan. 16-22. Each figure in the exhibit represents real victims of Lorain County who died as the result of domestic violence between 1989 and the present. Jan. 26, Rev. Kris Eggert, of God Before Guns, a multi-faith coalition of individual­s and faith communitie­s working to reduce gun injuries and deaths. Washington Avenue Christian Church is excited to be hosting these organizati­ons and share in their ministries. As people of faith, we strive to bring hope to a broken and fragmented world. Full Gospel Faith Fellowship, 1901North Ridge Road, Lorain, holds Sunday School at 9:45a.m. and services at 10:30 a.m. on Sundays. All are welcome. Worship service: Community Congregati­onal United Church of Christ, 379S. Main St. Amherst, hosts worship service and Sunday School (for ages 3 and older) at 10 a.m. every Sunday. Cornerston­e Church, 2949 W. River Road, N. Elyria, will host a Free Community Senior Lunch Bunch from noon to 1:30 p.m., the second Tuesday of every month Come enjoy a free lunch and speaker offering informatio­n to seniors in our community. Free community meal:

On the last Sunday of every month from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m., Journey of Faith Church in North Ridgeville cooks and serves a fresh hot meal for those in need in the community. This is done in connection with Community Care in North Ridgeville and other churches in the area. The community meal provides more than a hot meal though. It provides a time to sit down and relax with others in the community while being cared for.
