Browns WR Odell Beckham Jr. apparently will not face consequences for swatting a security officer on the butt.

Browns wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. apparently will not face consequences from police for swatting a security officer on the butt after LSU won the national football championship Jan. 13 in New Orleans.

Nola.com on Jan. 18 reported the officer Beckham swatted signed an affidavit saying he would not pursue charges against Beckham.

Video surfaced of Beckham hitting the officer from behind as the officer got in the face of LSU guard Damien Lewis. Three days later, New Orleans police issued a warrant for Beckham’s arrest on misdemeanor charges of simple battery.

“We are aware of the incident and have been in touch with Odell and his representatives on the matter,” a Browns spokesman said in a statement Jan. 16. “They are cooperating with authorities to appropriately address the situation.”

The New Orleans police are expected to withdraw the arrest warrant now that the security officer has withdrawn his complaint, according to a report by Adam Schefter of ESPN.

Beckham is a New Orleans native and a former star receiver at LSU. He was on the sideline for the Tigers’ 42-25 championship over Clemson and is still at the center of an investigation by LSU for handing out cash to players after the game.

Giving money to players who still have eligibility could put the players and LSU in violation of NCAA rules.
