Ukranian church selling pierogies

St. John the Baptist Ukrainian Catholic Church is selling pierogies on March 20 at 3038 Charleston Ave. in Lorain.

The price for the potato/ cheese pierogies is $9 per dozen.

Call 440-277-9080 between 9 and 11 a.m., March 18, to place an order. Then pick up the order from 9 to 11:30 a.m., March 20.

Church group selling pans of lasagna

The Men’s Club of the Lake Shore United Methodist Church will provide a family-size pan of lasagna for this month’s dinner.

This will be a take-out dinner only. They can be picked up after church services at 11 a.m., March 22, and from 5 to 6 p.m., March 25.

The suggested donation is $18. Payment will be collected at the time of pickup.

The church is located at 33119 Electric Blvd. in Avon Lake. Since these dinners will be prepared for each pickup day, those interested are asked to call at least two days before to ensure that they can be prepared.

Lorain church selling pierogis during Lent

St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church, 1305 E. Erie

Ave. in Lorain, has begun selling pierogis in the Social Hall from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. every Friday during Lent until April 10.

Pierogis can be purchased either cooked and prepared or frozen. The menu includes pierogis for $7 for a dozen frozen or $8 for a dozen cooked; frozen specialty pierogis for $4 a half dozen; cabbage and noodles for $3 small or $6 large; and macaroni and cheese for $3 small or $6 large.

A Pierogi To Go dinner includes six pierogis, cabbage and noodles and macaroni and cheese for $10.

Register now for spring break camps

The Lorain Historical Society announced it is accepting registrati­ons for its upcoming Kids Spring Break Camps at the Carnegie Center, 329 W. 10th St. in Lorain.

Camp opportunit­ies include March 23-27; March 30 to April 3; and April 13-17. All camps run from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., Mondays through Fridays, with after care available.

Participan­ts can play, learn, explore, experiment and make new friends during the week-long camp, as well as learn about local history in a fun and engaging way, create crafts and get moving with music, dance and yoga, according to a news release.

This camp is geared toward children from surroundin­g areas from kindergart­en through fourth-grade.

Cost is $75 per child for five days of camp, with discounts available for additional family members. Breakfast and lunch will be provided.

Lorain church holding kolbasz sale

A Kolbasz sale for Easter will be held from noon to 2 p.m., April 4, at the Hungarian Reformed Church, 1691 E. 31st St. in Lorain.

Cost is $9 for a 2-pound ring. Orders may be placed with the church office by calling 440-277-8177 weekdays from 9 a.m. to noon. Reservatio­ns will be confirmed via the church office, until March 27, and only confirmed orders will be honored.

Payment may be made by cash, check or VENMO. The church does not accept credit cards or walk-in sales.
